Rob Stokes, the NSW Planning Minister has announced approval of a plan for the WestConnex New M5 project.

The latest project will link the upgraded King Georges Road Interchange on the M5 East Motorway at Beverley Hills and run via twin tunnels to St Peters.

The community’s concerns regarding open public space, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure and the environment have been taken into consideration with a series of conditions set out by the minister.

The government says the new project will reduce congestion, improve travel times and traffic safety.
